Audi Reveals Second-Gen 2016 R8!
Audi has revealed the second generation of its mid-engine mounted sports car - 2016 Audi R8. The vehicle will make its global public debut at the upcoming 85th Geneva Motor Show, in the first week of March, 2015. The new R8 is faster, lighter, more efficient and is developed from the ground-up. Moreover, Audi R8 will be produced at a new Quattro GmbH production facility that was specially built for the new R8 – the “Böllinger Höfe” site in Heilbronn. And will go on sale in Europe this summer.

Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, Board Member for Technical Development at Audi, said: “With the new Audi R8, our engineers are bringing accumulated racing expertise from the race track onto the road. No other model of ours evokes more dynamic emotion. The new R8 V10 plus is therefore the most powerful and fastest series-production Audi of all time.”
Speaking of the engines, initially, 2016 R8 can only be had with one engine option - carry forwarded 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10. The engine is present in two state of tune - 540 hp and 610 hp. The power is handled by a seven speed S-tronic transmission in new Quattro AWD (all-wheel-drive) setup.
