2012 Volvo XC90 could be India bound

Volvo, the Swedish auto mobile manufacturer, is said to make a few changes in their flagship model Volvo XC 90 SUV that is hoped to be launched next year. The officially announced changes include the alterations made in the interiors as well as the exteriors to offer sportier R-design package for their off-road vehicle 2012 Volvo XC 90.

Here is the brief review on the changes made in the SUV; now available with three spoke steering wheel and the aluminium trim comes as a standard feature in the new Volvo XC 90. The dashboard gets aluminium inserts and the dials in the instrument ensemble also gets a redesigned look. The LED day-time running lights have been added under the headlights. The new Volvo XC 90 comes with 18 inch rims as a standard, but if opted for a R-design package, then 19 inch rims are offered as an upgrade.

Mr Peter Mertens, Senior VP of R&D department of Volvo car Corporation has reportedly informed that their best-selling model, Volvo XC 90 is their crossover SUV, which redefines comfort levels and flexibility along with excellent handling. Now, the refreshed SUV will be made available with added sophistication and elegance. The Volvo XC 90 SUV is available in the Indian car market as well, which reaches the country as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) in both the petrol and the diesel options. This means that the new Volvo XC 90 SUV will be available in the Indian car market after its global launch. The two petrol variants keep the capacity to produce 238 Bhp and 315 Bhp maximum power and the diesel variant generates a peak power of 185 Bhp.

Volvo India offers few of its models from its product portfolio to include, Volvo S80, Volvo S60, Volvo XC60 and Volvo XC 90. The Volvo S 60 is the lowest priced model with Rs 27,00,000 and the Volvo XC 90 is ther highest priced model at Rs 49,50,000.
