    Volkswagen introduces Golf SportWagen Alltrack

Amongst a sea of several interesting models to be introduced at the 2015 New York International Auto Show, this one really catches your eye, the all-wheel drive Golf SportWagen Alltrack. I understand the Golf is not available in India, so no possibility of the Alltrack, but we do have the Polo remember.

This will be such an intriguing concept with the Polo developed on this platform and might be the one to turn tides in Volkswagen’s favour in emerging markets. Coming back to this Golf SportWagen, Volkswagen will equip the Alltrack model with 4MOTION all-wheel drive system and it will be higher by one inch over the standard SportWagen version.

This 4X4 version will also get wheel arch mouldings and flared side sills for body protection, new design bumpers and updated interior. The combination of high ground clearance and 4MOTION all-wheel drive system enables decent off-road capability and load-carrying capacity of a compact SUV along with the on-road manners and fuel economy of a compact MPV.

Alongside the SportWagen, Volkswagen will also be presenting four Beetle Special Edition concepts at the show. These are Beetle Convertible Denim, Beetle R-Line, Beetle Convertible Wave and Beetle Pink Colour Edition. All these models celebrate 60 years of the Beetle heritage. Beetle Convertible Denim concept car comes with a denim-look soft top and a matching Stonewashed Blue Metallic body colour. The Beetle R-Line concept focuses on dynamic performance. Beetle Convertible Wave is an open-top four-seater that pays tribute to summertime drives. Beetle Pink Colour Edition is painted entirely in Pink Metallic and has been designed for the style-conscious.
