Tata Nano may roll out in Taiwan soon
The big charm of Tata Nano could not limit itself to Indian boundaries when the chairman of a Taiwan based machines manufacturing company took a drive of this little wonder around New Delhi. Mr. Theodore Huang who is the proud chairman of Techo group, based in Taiwan. The company is specialised in manufacturing electric appliances and machinery.
Mr. Huang commented that the car is a beautiful piece of work by Tata and also showed his deep interest in bringing this model to Taiwan roads. Mr. Huang has stated that Techo group will be really grateful to welcome this wonderful car in Taiwan and company will provide all possible assistance in terms of production, re-engineer or authorised dealership in market. He suggested that the company can take care of additional work like re-engineering or after sale maintenance of the car in Taiwan, thus Techo can mirror the big success of Tata Nano.
It was somewhere in March 2010 that Mr. Huang drove Tata Nano in New Delhi after breaking his retirement from driving taken 20 years. He said that he was not able to resist this wonderful car and thus decided to take a drive and he was so impressed with the drive that he showed his deep interest in working with Tata Nano to bring this car to Taiwan and would serve all possible platform to make it a success there as well.
Looking at the estimated import cost and other additional charges, Tata Nano will be the cheapest car in Taiwan with a strong niche. The probability of Tata Nano entering Taiwan markets is pretty good except a little hurdles like EU safety norms which Tata Nano doesn't meet properly and then Euro V emission norms which will again pose a problem to them. Addressing the issue, one of the Tata official commented that these are minute hurdles and can be sorted out easily. If all goes well, we might see Indian Tata Nano driving on the Taiwanese roads.
