Tata begins open sales of Nano in Maharashtra, WB, UP, Karnataka
Tata Motors has begun the open sales of Nano, world’s cheapest car, in the states of Maharashtra, West Bengal, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh. The company said in a statement that those customers who have not yet booked a Nano in these states will now be able to buy it directly from showrooms. Tata Motors said that the customers will also be able to have a closer look at Nano and will be able to take a test drive of the model across all dealerships of the company and at the special access points of Nano.
From August, the company had started the open sales of Nano in Kerala. The company has also tied up with twenty five banks to offer loans for buying Tata Nano at good rates of interest. Previous year, Tata Motors had selected 1.55 lakh customers for the delivery of Nano in 2 phases. This process will complete by the end of 2010.
Tata Motors had raised the cost of Nano by 3-4% in the month of July. This further translated into a raise of Rs 3,700 to Rs 6,894 for various variants. However, the initial 1 lakh customers were price-protected and that is why they will have their cars at the announced price which was Rs 1.23 lakh-Rs 1.72 lakh. The company had introduced this model in 2009. The car is produced at the company’s plant at Sanand in Gujarat. This plant has got the production capacity of 2.5 lakh units annually.

Please can you let me know the registration (road tax) fee for Nono car in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. I believe it's 5% of the show-room cost ( for car 1000 kg ) Thanks
