Mahindra S101 Spied with New Alloy Wheels
A prototype of the Mahindra S101 has been snapped making rounds in Chennai. This is the first time that the car has been snapped so clearly, while flaunting its distinct shape and revealed components.

The car is wrapped in a different camouflage and features a new set of alloy wheels. These particular alloys are different in comparison to those seen on test mules earlier.
The car in all probability will be launched this fiscal. S101 will be Mahindra’s entry-level B-segment offering and might be priced in between Rs. 4 to 6 lacs. Mahindra confirmed earlier that it will be releasing its first ever, in-house developed petrol power-plant with the upcoming S101. The company further added that this particular engine will be part of a new range of petrol engines, which will include a 1.2L, 1.6L and a 2.0-liter motor.
When launched, the car will compete with the likes of upcoming Tata Kite, Maruti WagonR and Chevy Beat, amongst others. Speaking of Chevrolet Beat, the Mahindra S101 features similar positioning of rear door handles, i.e. mounted on C-pillars. The car will share components with the recently launched TUV 300 and might feature the same 1.5L mHawk80 diesel power-plant, which finds its application in the TUV 300 SUV. Possibility dictates that the car might also come with the same automatic transmission option seen in the SUV, along with the power-plant and the standard MT.
