As per the reports submitted by the company, the sales figures of Etios series that comprises of the Etios sedan and the Liva hatchback have touched a new milestone of over 1 lakh units. The achievement of such impressive sales figures was possible because of the company’s entry in the volume pulling segment of the Indian car market with the launch of Toyota Etios sedan in December 2010 and the introduction of Toyota Etios Liva hatchback in June 2011. The statistics reveal that in the fiscal year 2011-12 Toyota India sold sround 50,157 units of Etios sedan which made it emerge as the third largest selling sedan in the segment.

The Managing director of TKM, Mr. Hiroshi Nakagawa, thanked the one lakh customers who had put their faith in Toyota as a brand and stated that the company was delighted to have achieved this figure despite the unfortunate natural disaster that struck as tsunami in Japan and floods in Thailand. At the same time TKM’s Deputy Managing Director for Marketing, Mr. Sandeep Singh mentioned that the company is continually endeavouring to incorporate the feedbacks which customers provide in order to improve the services they offer. He added that this milestone might be small but is definitely of great significance in the bigger project which is aimed at taking TKM to a better and higher level of global operations of Toyota.
