Toyota Etios to be launched in India soon

Toyota Motors, world's largest car maker is planning to launch its Etios model by the end of this year in India. “Both the versions will be affordability placed,” said Hiroshi Nakagawa, managing director of Toyota Kirloskar Motors.

The Toyota Etios model was disclosed at Delhi Auto Expo in January. The model has been designed for the Indian market and it will be launched in India in both hatchback and sedan segments. First the hatchback version of the Etios model will be launched and the the Sedan version will follow, same as Maruti did with Maruti Swift model.

The company is planning to make Toyota Etios its flagship premium hatchback model in India with plans of increasing its market share to 10 percent by year 2017. The company is expecting to sell about 40 lakh units annually in India by year 2017. In short term plan the
company is expecting to sell about 4 lakh units of its vehicles per annum in the country.

Though the price of the model hasn't been disclosed yet by the company but it is expected that the Etios model will be launched with a competitive price tag as some of the most popular car models in India including Maruti Swift, Maruti Ritz, Hyundai i20 and Fiat Grande Punto are already doing quite well.

Toyota Recently organized a Toyota “Q” World programe in Mumbai where it showcased all of its portfolio models including the recently launched Toyota Prius hybrid and upcoming Toyota Etios.
