Toyota Etios hatchback version and sedan in Chinese market
Seems like Toyota is focusing on the emerging markets completely. Toyota Etios which was the star of the Delhi Auto Expo 2010, will soon be seen riding the Chinese roads. The company has filed for a patent for Etios in China. The automobile market of China will have both the sedan and the hatchback version. Toyota has developed Etios especially for the speedily growing Asian Markets.
The features of Toyota Etios like spacious interiors, smooth driving, high fuel efficiency and affordable price are some of the USPs of the product which have been developed for the Indian users.
The hatchback version of Toyota Etios is powered by a 1.2L petrol engine. On the other hand, the sedan version is powered by 1.5L petrol engine. Toyota had recently expressed that it will analyse the option of launching a diesel engine on the Toyota Etios. This step will be taken by the company on the response it received from Indian customers about the concept cars which were shown at the Auto Expo. The hatchback is expected to be priced at 50.000 yuan (3.5 – 4 lakhs) considering the Chinese market. In this market, the hatchback will compete against the Chevrolet Sail and other Chinese products. The Toyota Etios price in India can be expected to begin at 4-4.5 lakh rupees. Also, the price of the sedan will not exceed 6-6.5 lakh rupees.
