The new Future Safety Technology from Ford

Ford has announced a number of new safety systems that are currently not so development but are enough to let us peek into the future driving technology. The very first of all the technology being developed is the Traffic Jam Assist. It is a semi-autonomous driving system which has been designed to keep pace with the vehicle ahead as well as to steer the car itself. This technology uses radars and cameras to work. Joseph Urhahne who is Fords Research and Innovation engineer said that most of the drivers spend a lot of time in the heavy traffic and this new technology can make the traveling in congestion more relaxing.

The Traffic Jam Assist can be launched soon in near future because the technology is built on the cruise control and lane keeping assist system which are recently prevailing in the high speed cars. Lined up next is the perpendicular parking system that is a evolution of the current parallel parking system. This technology is not so radical but it is definitely going to be more useful than the right now used parallel parking function.

Blue Oval (Ford) is trying to create a workload estimator with the help of sensors which will be used to monitor the driver's stress level. If the sensors detect that the driver is too busy, it may prevent the incoming phone calls for eliminating the exterior distraction. We hope that all the above mentioned features and systems are soon embedded in the upcoming and present cars of Ford which are sold in India.
