Next Generation Honda Jazz Revealed, India launch by Early 2014

Following the release of first official sketech of the upcoming Brio based MPV, Motor trend has now revealed the pictures and other details of the next-geneation Honda Jazz on its official website. The car wears the 'Fit' badge, as it is called by the same name in Japan.

It has also marked debut of a new hybrid with a dual-clutch Intelligent drive system, used in the Fit. Expected to be launched by September in Japan, the new Jazz will come to India by early next year, however Honda Cars India has still to confirm details.

Honda has tried to match the new Jazz with the VW Polo's standard, and claims that the handling of the car would be equally good.

The new Jazz has grown 60mm lengthier and that has been the reason behind its enhanced leg room. The boot too has gone bigger to about 400 litres.

The 2014 Honda Jazz will be made available in three engien options- a 1.3L petrol, a 1.5L petrol and a 1.5-litre hybrid, besides a diesel engine powered version. It will be offered both in the manual and automatic transmssion gearbox options.

In India, it will most probably come up with 1.2-litre iVTEC petrol and 1.5-litre iDTEC diesel engines, which also power the Amaze.

The Jazz hybrid might not make its way to India, but this could be a great option for several international markets where Hybrid vehicles are in vogue.

This version has been claimed to have attained a fuel economy of 36.4kmpl, which makes the highest among all hybrid models in Japan.
