New Cars launching this year in India

The year 2014 is going to witness some of the most amazing vehicles that would open several new options for the Indian buyers. The major launches lined up for this year includes some of important cars out of most significant brands in the Indian car market. These brands include names like Honda, Tata, Datsun, Audi, Toyota and Fiat. So, basically in almost every segment there's a new vehicle that would walk down for the buyers. This would definitely churn up the levels of competition in the market. To name them- MPV, premium hatchback, compact sedan, B segment hatch, SUV and luxury sedan segment, will soon get new additions in the respective segments.

Honda Mobilio

Considering the rising demand of MPVs in India, Honda has come up with all-new Mobilio as the newest addition to the MPV segment. Based on Brio platform, the vehicle will lock horns with Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Nissan Evalia and Chevrolet Enjoy. It is made in accordance to the company's “Exciting H” design philosophy that certainly builds up more spacious interiors, which could prove to be the winning card for the company. Other than that, though being placed in the MPV segment, the vehicle is no less in terms of design and styling. And this is what Honda cars are ever known for in the market. It is powered with 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine that produces maximum power of 117bhp, while the diesel gets 1.5-litre i-DTEC that belts out top power of 98bhp.

All-new Honda Jazz has evolved with the time, and the company is aiming to bring back the brand with a bang in the Indian car market. There were several factors that turned down the product's journey with the earlier model. So, this time around Honda is going to play really smart especially with the pricing of the model. The 3rd generation Jazz has got some of the amazing attributes like spacious interiors, immense amount of comfort and, undoubtedly, an unbeatable performance is promised out of this car. The company's “Exciting H” design philosophy has come out well with the 2014 Jazz. Under the hood, the car gets a 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine producing 89bhp of max power. Well, this time Honda has specifically come up with diesel Jazz, which was one of the lacking factor before. The diesel variant gets a 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine that churns max power output of 98bhp.

Tata Bolt was the most awaited hatch, and it has certainly stood over the expectation of the market. This hatch is based on Tata's new X1 platform which ultimately brings a product with a pronounced appeal to it. All-new Bolt features grille with Humanity line, that builds up the front more prominent. To its interiors, the hatch receives some of the advanced features like HARMAN infotainment system, 5-inch touchscreen, first-in-class HVAC with touchscreen controls and several others. It is powered with the new 1.2L Revotron petrol mill that puts up 83bhp of power and 140Nm of top torque.

Next from the stables of Tata is the all-new compact sedan model, Tata Zest. This is the first ever sedan in the Indian car market, which was showcased with automated manual transmission. The compact sedan segment is surely getting one of the strongest contender in the coming times. This is purely going to pump up the competition in the segment, and it will be a close call between Maruti Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze and the upcoming Hyundai Xcent. It comes equipped with projector headlamps with chrome accents, daytime running LEDs, rear too gets LED treatment, new set of 15-inch alloy wheels and many others. In terms of engine specs, the sedan has come up with both petrol and diesel engines. The petrol gets the same 1.2-litre Revotron MPFi engine producing max power of 84bhp. On the other hand, the diesel gets 1.3-litre that generates 89bhp of top power and 200Nm of top torque, and is mated to F-Tronic technology enabled 5-speed automated manual transmission.

With the introduction of low cost brand, Datsun, in India, the small car segment will soon be getting all-new Datsun Go. It is based on old Nissan Micra's platform, thus measures 3785mm in length, 1635 mm in width and height is 1485mm. The wheelbase measures 2450mm which ultimately creates enough room inside the car. The hatch gets a 1.2-litre petrol engine which churns max power of 74bhp and 104Nm of top torque. The power is transmitted to front wheel drive through five-speed manual transmission. The entry level car by Datsun certainly appears to be promising, and is targeted for the low income group.

The German luxury car maker, Audi is also going to bring its luxury sedan, Audi A3 soon. The vehicle will be placed against the upcoming rivals that includes names like Mercedes-Benz CLA and BMW 1 Series sedan. It offers pretty good space inside that can easily accommodate five adults and has got boot space measuring 425-litres. A3 is made available with both petrol and diesel guise- 1.8-litre TFSI petrol and 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine. The petrol mill is able to put max power of 168bhp and 320Nm of top torque, while the diesel belts out 150bhp of power and 320Nm of torque.

In terms of design, the SUV certainly rates high, as the rugged appeal will surely attract many buyers. It features stylish diamond cut alloys, bold front grille, dynamic rear cladding with badging and roof spoiler, grille guard, side cladding, fog lamps with turn indicators along side and ORVMs again with turn indicators.
