Mercedes SLS AMG gets 10 confirmed bookings

Mercedes-AMG GmbH has launched its SLS AMG in New Delhi. Mercedes Benz India is now planning to begin marketing it in the country. The newly launched car will attract a 110 per cent import duty and will cost above Rs. 2 crore. The customers and other admirers have shown an overwhelming reponse for the car. Mercedes-Benz India has already given an indication for around 10 confirmed bookings for this car until June 2010.

Mr. Ola Kaellenius, the global CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH said that India has now joined the elite ranks of the first few RHD markets globally to launch this mean machine. He also said that that the car has got a strong demand. The new SLS AMG has attracted people from all over the world through its impressive and stylish design, intelligent construction and handling dynamics.

Dr. Wilfried Aulbur, managing director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India said that SLS AMG represents the true spirit of their brand, that is, 'The Best or Nothing'! It encompasses passion, performance, design, technology and engineering excellence- values that make them one of the most exciting brands in the world, said Aulbur.

SLS AMG is the first independently developed vehicle by AMG in its distinguished history that spans over 40 years. The puristic sports car design of this model which is complemented by the innovative interior design, gives this car a cutting edge. The car is really a unique piece of art with superior driving dynamics due to the modified AMG 6.3 – litre V8 front mid-engine, the AMG Speedshift T DCT 7-speed sports transmission and the AMG speed-sensitive sports steering.
