Mahindra and Mahindra is known for offering its consumers with high end SUVs such as Mahindra Bolero, Mahindra Scorpio etc. adding to the SUVs in India, Mahindra’s brand new SUV, Mahindra Rexton II was spotted on the roads of Maharashtra somewhere near Chakan area. The new Mahindra Rexton is actually an old school type of SUV, which is based on tried and tested techniques of the 1st generation Mercedes Benz M-Class. The codename of this SUV is Y300 and is one of the SUVs from SsangYong’s fleet of cars, which will be launched by Mahindra and Mahindra in India.

It is expected that this Mahindra Rexton SUV will come powered by 2.7 litre of 5 cylinder turbo charged diesel engine. This powerful and sturdy engine will keep the capacity of producing 162 bhp of power accompanied by 34.8 kg of torque. The SUV will also come with 5 speed automatic speed transmission. Mahindra’s Rexton will be a complete drive and will come with superb traction control and an average ground clearance. The suspension of this SUV is independent and is accompanied with double wishbones in the front and a multi link system at the back.

Mahindra and Mahindra will launch Mahindra Rexton soon after Mahindra launches Korando SUV of SsangYong. This SUV will give a very tough competition to SUVS like Ford Endeavour, Honda CRV, Maruti Mitsubishi, Toyota Fortuner etc. it is expected that Mahindra Rexton will hit the Indian roads in the year of 2012.
