Q1) Million dollar question, when will the Ecopsort be launched?

Ans) We have gone live with the Ecosport today, which is the first step. We got this campaign that talks about customers to submit their discoveries. The good ones will drive the car in May that is when the first round will happen.

Q2) Will the 1.5-litre petrol be offered with automatic or even the other engines also get it?

Ans) The Ford Ecosport will have three engine options, 1.0-litre EcoBoost turbo petrol, 1.5-litre petrol and the 1.5-litre diesel engine. The 1.5-litre petrol will come with an automatic option, while the other two will be offered with manual.

Q3) With the increase in localisation, will the cost of ownership of the Ecosport and the Fiesta go down as both share the same platform?

Ans) I can’t comment on the Fiesta, but with Ecosport the strategy is to drive lower ownership experience, and focus is to have cost effective ownership. Our goal is to reduce the pricing of the vehicle to match what we did with the Figo that has one of the lowest maintenance cost in its segment.

Q4) Several dealers have started taking bookings, is that officially done by Ford? If yes, what are the numbers?

Ans) We haven’t officially announced on deliveries, and the bookings will be accepted only once we announce it. And we will soon start it, once we think we are ready.

Q5) How will you convince a person to buy the Ecosport over other competition?

Ans) The Ecosport sits in a sweet spot between hatchbacks, sedans and SUVs. It’s a vacant spot at the moment, as it is segment that hatchback, sedan owners will be willing to upgrade. It has an SUV- stance and even a ground clearance of 200mm. So, the Ecosport attracts buyers of different segments.
