The new Ford C-MAX Hybrid is a minivan and is expected to achieve a fuel economy of 16.64kmpl while driving in city and 15.58kmpl while driving on the highway and the comparison of the hybridized minivan is being done from the Toyota Prius V from where the concept have arrived. The C-MAX Hybrid is said to beat the Japanese model of Toyota that gives a mileage of 15.58kmpl in city and 14.16kmpl on the highways which is fair enough with the engine being used in the vehicle.

The output provided by the C-MAX Hybrid is of 188hp which is higher in comparison to the Prius V which provides 134hp of total output. All of the above, Ford C-MAX Hybrid is $1,300 (72,000 INR) lower from the base price of the Prius V which includes the cost of destination and delivery. The previous press release of the company had mentioned a difference of $555 (30,700 INR) amongst the base versions of the two minivans which did not include the destination and handling fee which has created a big difference.

Raj Nair who is the vice president of Ford, Global Product Development said that Ford has done a 20 years of hybrid innovation to build the C-MAX Hybrid that offers fuel efficiency and gives the company a chance to create a new place in the hybrid market.

He further added that the new C-MAX Hybrid delivers 1.06kmpl more than Prius v with 50 more horsepower that comes with exclusive technologies like hands-free liftgate plus the $1,300-lower base price that means the payback period will be the smallest in the segment of minivans. Ford C-MAX Hybrid will be available for sale in the markets of States later this year and the sales of the minivan will be followed by a plug-in hybrid variant of Ford.
