    Fiat Linea 2014 launched today. Prices start at Rs 6.99 Lakh (Ex-Showroom, Delhi)

    Fiat had introduced the Linea in 2009 and since then it is the first time that this sedan gets a facelift. The Linea 2014 gets a new fascia, with a new two bar grille and redesigned front bumpers. The ORVMs now get side indicators on them and even the rear gets a chrome treatment. The Linea 2014 has undergone a cosmetic change on the exterior.

    Fiat Linea

    The interiors of the Linea have received a major upgrade. It now has a new instrument panel design, which looks contemporary and stylish too. The interiors are now beige and black and even the new music system and new instrument cluster. The Linea now gets 16-inch alloy wheels, Bluetooth connectivity from Microsoft’s Blue & Me, leather seats, dual airbags, all disc brakes, rain sensing wipers, automatic headlamps and now it even gets cruise control. The engine options remain the same, with 1.4-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesels. Even the mechanicals are unchanged, be it the powertrain or the underpinnings.

    Fiat separated from Tata Motors dealerships last year and since then the company has been focusing on increasing its footprint in India. Other than increasing its reach, the company will also be introducing new products in the Indian market. The Avventura will be the company’s first crossover, based on the Punto-platform. The Abarth 500, Jeep Cherokee and Jeep Wrangler will also make their way into the Indian car market soon. There is already the Linea, Linea Classic and Grande Punto available in India. This will increase the number of products to seven from the current three, once the other products are launched. Fiat will also get a compact SUV in the coming two years also.
