Fiat Approves Production of Jeep Crossover and Fiat 500X

Fiat recently confirmed production of the compact Jeep crossover and the Fiat 500X SUV. From the looks of it, Fiat is all set to fulfill its promise of 9 new products for India. The company has recently initiated preparations to transform the Melfi production plant into one of the most advanced automobile plants in the world with strict quality standards.

Additionally, the assembly line is also being modified in order to fit to the contours of the Small Wide platform. Once these and other modifications are complete the Melfi plant will have a production capacity of 1,600 vehicles. India is expected to get the CKD units of the Jeep crossover and 500X SUV which will be assembled at the Ranjangaon plant.
