Next Gen Chevrolet Beat

Update: Chevrolet has unveiled ACTIV, a concept of Beat hatchback and its sedan derivative named Essentia at the Auto expo 2016. The new hatchback has projector headlamps encased in a much more sleeker cluster and other aesthetic updates. On the other hand, Essentia will compete against Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze and others in the segment. Both these cars from Chevy would possibly be launched in the first quarter of 2017. Check out the complete Expo coverage of Beat ACTIV and Essentia right here:

Chevrolet will be showcasing its all-new compact sedan, which has been into works since 2013 at the Indian Auto Expo. If reports are to be believed, the would-be-named Essentia will compete against the likes of Swift Dzire, Hyundai Xcent, Honda Amaze and Ford Figo Aspire.

Speaking of Essentia, it is expected draw its power from the 1.0-litre diesel motor and a 1.2-litre petrol unit, which are same as those seen in the Beat. Though, there is no clear indication about the exteriors of the car, they could largely deviate from those of Beat. Especially, when the vehicle is said to be in development since 2013. However, there is a possibility that the interiors could be lifted straight from those of the Beat.

Apart from this car, the American manufacturer will also showcase few others like the MPV Spin, Sports car Camaro and the Colorado SUV. Spin, however, is also expected to get launched later this year or even in 2017. Camaro and Colorado will be brought in to build up some excitement among the spectators. For this reason, the manufacturer also needs to bring in some products that will bring in sales number so as to keep Chevy’s hopes for India high, as the manufacturer is rapidly losing its hold in the country.
