    Auto Expo 2016 ends on a victorious note; Records a footfall of over 6 lac people

    The event was a grand success with record registrations happening this time. Almost all the carmakers were fully equipped to make this show a superb hit.

    The grand automobile event, Auto Expo 2016, finally came to an end today. The huge show of vehicles attracted gigantic 6 lac people, spread over seven days. While Volvo and Skoda were surely missed, display of automobiles by carmakers like BMW, Audi, Mercedes and Jaguar, ensured the visitors, a gala time. The star-studded extravagance witnessed the presence of celebrities like Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Katrina Kaif and John Abrahim.

    Mr. Vishnu Mathur, Director General, SIAM, expressing his pleasure over the successful organisation of the show said, “We believe the Auto Expo has successfully evolved from being just another exhibition of vehicles to a showcase of Indian manufacturing strength and technological capabilities. With over 108 new products being launched and unveiled and over 6,01,914 footfalls received over the last one week, we believe this Expo will strengthen the belief of our manufacturers in the Indian automotive industry. We would like to thank all those who visited the Motor Show as well as all our exhibitors, partners and the media. They are the ones who have made this show a success and helped us reach the desired level of excellence.”

    The Motor Show had over 65 manufacturers, showcasing their new and existing products to the public. 108 new products were launched or revealed across the week. Countless food stalls and entertainment activities, held at the Expo, ensured there is no lack of crowd, even on weekdays. The Motor Show was inaugurated by Shri Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road, Transport and Highways and Shri Anant Geete, Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, on February 4. While the first two days were for media, remaining five days were open for the general public.
