It’s also the quickest Tata car ever with a 0-100 kmph time of just 6.3 seconds using Boost mode

Tata Motors has launched its flagship Tata Harrier EV, priced at Rs 21.49 lakh (introductory ex-showroom, pan-India). It brings plenty of things to the table, some of which are introduced for the first time for a Tata car. We’ve listed those seven things below:

    Dual-motor All-wheel Drive

The Harrier EV uses two electric motors one on each axle to power all four wheels, making it the first electric car from Tata to get such a powertrain setup. The front motor and rear motor generate 158 PS and 238 PS respectively, while putting out a combined torque output of up to 504 Nm.

With a 0-100 kmph time of just 6.3 seconds using the Boost mode, the Harrier EV is the quickest Tata car ever. Not only that, the all-wheel drivetrain not only provides superior traction on the road, but it can also help the Harrier EV do some serious off-roading.

    Auto-park Assist

This feature can park the car by itself without the driver needing to give any input to the steering wheel, brake or throttle. The same is already available in the new Mahindra EVs – BE 6 and the Harrier EV’s rival XEV 9e. But nevertheless, this is a first for any Tata car.

    Summon Functionality

This feature basically allows the Tata Harrier EV to move forward or backwards on its own at low speeds using the key fob. It can help you get the car in or out of tight parking spaces.

    6 Multi-Terrain Modes

The Harrier EV comes with 6 multi-terrain modes including Normal, Mud Ruts, Rock Crawl, Sand, Snow/Grass, and a Custom mode. In comparison, the standard Harrier comes with three terrain modes: Normal, Rough and Wet.

The additional terrain modes basically aid off-roading by changing the characteristics of the powertrain and throttle, helping it overcome different terrains.

    14.5-inch Touchscreen Infotainment

The Harrier EV gets a 14.5-inch touchscreen, which is the largest for any Tata car. Another thing to note is that this system gets a Samsung QLED display, which should offer a crisp image quality. In comparison, the standard Tata Harrier has a 12.3-inch display.

    Digital IRVM With Dashcam

The Harrier EV’s internal rear view mirror (IRVM) can also double as a digital IRVM by showcasing the feed from a rear camera integrated into the shark-fin antenna. This gives a clearer view of what’s behind the car. It also has an integrated dashcam that is an essential addition for added safety.

    Transparent Mode In 360-degree Camera

The 360-degree camera of the Harrier EV also lets you see a virtual image of what’s directly under the car. This feature is especially useful while off-roading, making it easier to judge while driving over large obstacles.
