2025 Kia Carens Clavis Diesel Automatic Is Available Only In A Single Mid-spec HTK Plus Variant

If you want an automatic Kia Carens Clavis with more features, you have no choice but to consider the turbo-petrol engine variants
The Kia Carens Clavis has been recently revealed, along with its variant-wise features and specifications. It is the more premium version of the existing Carens MPV and will go on sale on May 23, 2025. The Kia Carens Clavis is offered in seven broad variants: HTE, HTE (O), HTK, HTK Plus, HTK Plus (O), HTX and HTX Plus.
It comes with three engine options, but if you're looking to get it with the diesel-automatic combination, it is only available with the mid-spec HTK Plus variant. This trim packs most of the essential features you'd need but misses out on some of the higher-end bells and whistles. We've detailed what it includes and what it doesn’t, below.
What It Gets
The HTK Plus being the mid-spec variant comes equipped with most of the essential features. On the exterior, it gets halogen headlights with LED DRLs, connected LED tail-lights, auto-folding and electrically adjustable ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, and 16-inch steel wheels with stylised covers. A rear wiper and washer along with a defogger has also been provided.
The cabin welcomes you with a dual-tone black and beige theme, along with semi-leatherette seat upholstery. The second-row seats are foldable in a 60:40 split and are able to slide and recline. Third row seats are also reclinable making sure that the occupants do not miss out on comfort either.
You get AC vents for both the second and third rows, and there are thoughtful touches like seatback pockets and even sunshades for second-row passengers.

What It Misses Out On
You do miss out on several additional features available in the higher HTK Plus (O), HTX, and HTX Plus variants. The exterior misses include LED headlights and larger 17-inch alloy wheels. While on the inside, you miss out on 64-colour ambient lighting and leatherette seat upholstery.
The higher variants also get you more comfort features with ventilated front-row seats and a 4-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, a retractable seatback table with cup holders and a panoramic sunroof.

Expected Price & Rivals
The Kia Carens Clavis will go on sale from May 23, 2025, with prices expected to start at around Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival the Toyota Rumion, Maruti XL6, and Maruti Ertiga while acting as a more affordable alternative to the Toyota Innova Hycross, Toyota Innova Crysta and Maruti Invicto.
