Top India Car News Of The Week: One Luxury SUV Launch And Some Important Announcements

The last week of July had little proceedings in the four-wheeler space in India. The launch of a facelifted luxury SUV was the main highlight. Also, the soon-to-debut Vietnamese EV manufacturer has opened its first showroom on our shores. Meanwhile, some models witnessed a price increase, while deliveries have commenced for some new cars. 

Volvo XC60 Facelift Launched 

Volvo Cars India is on a roll! After introducing the flagship XC90 facelift, the Swedish carmaker has now given the smaller XC60 a much needed mid-cycle update. It now comes with revised design touches and a slightly revised interior with more tech onboard. No changes have been made to the mechanicals of the XC60. 

VinFast Opens Its First Dealership In India

We await the debut of the much anticipated EV manufacturer, VinFast, who is expected to launch the VF6 and VF7 soon. But ahead of that, the Vietnam carmaker has opened its first showroom in Surat, Gujarat. Both the VF6 and VF7 are on display and you can find more details about it here. 

Maruti Fronx Gets Safer

The Fronx is the latest car from Maruti Suzuki’s stable to be offered with 6 airbags as standard. Earlier, it was limited to the mid- and higher-spec variants of the sub-4 metre crossover. Some Toyota Cars Get Dearer With Price Increase 

After increasing prices of the Toyota Rumion, the Japanese carmaker has now hiked the asking price for the Taisor and Innova Crysta. Tata Harrier EV Deliveries Commence 

Good news for those who had booked the Tata Harrier EV. Tata Motors commenced deliveries of its flagship electric vehicle earlier in the week. It must be noted that the Harrier EV racked up over 10,000 bookings on the first day of its bookings commencement. 

MG Astor Gets A Price Increment

Mahindra BE 6 And XEV 9e Pack Two Variants Deliveries Begin 

The wait for those who had booked the Mahindra XEV 9e and Mahindra BE 6’s mid-spec Pack Two variants have been long. But they can now have a sigh of relief as Mahindra has begun customer deliveries of these variants. Notably, Mahindra earlier introduced the larger 79 kWh battery pack with these variants, making it more accessible.
