Skoda variants to be localized in two years
Skoda India, the Czech Republic car manufacturers, has declared that the company will localise the parts for the Skoda cars. In another two years' time, Skoda will constitute all the components from the local manufactures. They are insuring that the quality will be kept intact.
Thomas Kuehl, the Sales and Marketing Director of Skoda Auto India, confirmed that the company will used the local components for all the Skoda models. Earlier they used only 15 percent of the local components but now the percentage will increase upto 40.
It will give a boost to the local market suppliers but the experts have already started speculating about the quality of the product.
Skoda Czech car makers, have always maintained the reputation of making the drivers happy. They have a pledge to make the customers contented.
Kuehl also stated that by the end of 2011, the new Skoda model will have 70 percent of the local components and by 2012 the Skoda cars will have all the local car components. He also confirmed that Skoda will not compromise on quality of the cars. He also throw some more light on the company's decision of phasing out the Skoda Octvia model, the Czech car makers are planning to launch a new sedan by 2011, which will cost lower than Fabia.
Skoda India has already created a ripple in the market by launching Skoda Fabia in the C segment, with price of Rs. 4,19,216 (ex-showroom Mumbai), which is almost less than 20 per cent of the already exciting model. The top diesel model is priced at Rs 6.5 Lakh.
More news for Skoda lovers. Skoda Fabia re-launched in a new model. The car has been revamped from the exteriors and interiors. The base version of Skoda Fabia is Rs. 63,000 cheaper. The car is comes in three models 1.2L petrol and diesel and 1.6L petrol. The 1.2L variants will come in three versions base, mid and top end. However the 1.6L will only come in top end variant which is priced at Rs. 5.81 Lakh.
Skoda's average sales of Skoda Fabia were 470 per month in the first half of the year, which is higher than the competitors in the market.
