Skoda Fabia to be presented as a rally car in WRC!!
Skoda Fabia the racing car does that sound good? Skoda Auto is not known for being a racing car manufacturer in the world rally circuit (WRC). But Czech Republic is working towards launching Skoda Fabia as a rally car. Skoda Auto has made Skoda Fabia the hatchback as a racing car which will be participating in the 2011 WRC.
The Czech Republic auto makers wished to compete in the Super 2000 championships and built the car model build in the same year but it did not work out. Now Skoda Auto has come into partnership with Red Bull to participate in the rally as the Red Bull Skoda Team. The new team will be headed by the champion racing driver Juho Hannien and the Navigator Mikko Markkula.
Back home, In the Indian arm of Skoda Auto is enjoying the fruits of the market growth. Skoda Auto registered a sales growth of 29 per cent in the month of November, 2010. The Czech auto manufacturer sold 1841 Skoda cars in November, 2010 over the sales of 1425 Skoda Cars in November, 2009. The sales in the last month was better than in October, 2010 in which Skoda Auto India sold 1694 cars. Apart from enjoying a sales upsurge, Skoda auto India is keenly working on extending its market share in India. Recently in the wake of enhancing its portfolio, it launched a brand new SUV Skoda Yeti. The new SUV comes with a price tag of Rs 15,40,324 and has already created ripple among its competitors such as Mahindra Scorpio, Tata Safari, Ford Endeavour, Maruti Grand Vitara, Tata Aria, Mitsubishi Outlander and Tata Aria. Apart from the new SUV, the auto company also sells the popular hatchback Skoda Fabia and the premium sedans New Skoda Laura and Skoda Superb.
Skoda Auto India has few more reasons to enjoy this Christmas month, as the company's plant in Aurangabad has won the “Silver Award” in the automobile industry by the eminent Greentech Foundation. This foundation organized the competition on the environmental performance for the Indian Industries. Skoda Auto India, competed with 300 other companies and won the award.
