Skoda Fabia Greenline delivers 44kmpl on a single tank of fuel
You would surely wonder and would not believe it at the first hand if somebody tells you that a car delivered an average of 44kmpl. But, it is a reality. Recent reports confirm that GreenLine series of the Skoda Fabia has achieved 44kmpl mileage well above the official consumption figures by Skoda. According to sources, famous economy driving specialist Gerhard Plattner, an Austrian achieved this mammoth score during his journey from Austria to Denmark and back. He completed this 2,006 km journey on a single 45 litre tank of fuel.

Starting his journey from Reutte in Austria, the Austrian economy driving world champion, drove this economical car to Bov in Denmark and back. This highway A7 is the longest highway in Germany. It is known that Skoda GreenLine models are aimed at cutting fuel consumption with the use of efficient technology. Skoda cars also envisage that the technology embedded in the car should also be economical so that the overall price of the car remains unaffected. Skoda GreenLine car is a different program of models that targets as low as 110 g/km of CO2 emissions besides taking aerodynamics to the farthest extent possible. Coupled with an engine control device that has been tweaked with, the transmission has also been worked out to deliver more mileage.

The weight has been considerably reduced and the car has been fitted with smooth-running tyres. The car uses a real fuel saver, the FlexFuel concept that enables the use of a mix of petrol and ethanol as fuel. According to similar reports, the exhaust gases have a balanced CO2 level that the plants use during photosynthesis. The entire event was monitored by International Police Motor Corporation (IPMC) that reportedly put a seal on the fuel tank of the Skoda GreenLine car used by Plattner before he set out for the journey. If this average can be put to standard driving conditions, it would be none less than a wonder keeping in view the rising fuel prices. Besides, it would be a great leap in protecting the environment.
