Toyota Scraps the Rumor of Bringing in $6000 Car in India
The Japanese auto giant Toyota Motors denied the rumor on Thursday of bringing in India a $ 6,000 car to boost up the sales of the company in the country and to increase its share in the growing affordable car market of India. Mr. Asahi Shimbun, spokesperson of Toyota Motors reported that the company has no such plans of launching any such car in India. Asahi further added that the company will be creating a new brand, which will consist of low priced cars so that the Toyotas name is not degraded. Sources say that Toyota is eyeing upon this sector and will make an entry in the year 2016.

The low-cost sedan class car Toyota Etios was brought in India in the year 2010 by the Japan’s biggest auto car maker with a price tag of $ 10,000, which was still expensive in comparison to its rival Tata Motors who sold its Nano for just $ 2,900 only. The company is planning to achieve at least 50 percent of the worldwide vehicle sales from all the emerging markets till 2015 in comparison of the figures of 2010 which was only 40 percent.
