Toyota planning to bring MUV between Etios and Innova
Japanese automaker, Toyota has stated that they are planning to bring a MUV for Indian Market which is likely to be placed between Toyota Etios and MUV Toyota Innova. Toyota Motor Asia Pacific, Senior Vice President(Area Operations Division), Vonco S Socco said that one more car can be brought in the market to fill the gaps between Toyota Etios and Toyota Innova.
However, he denied to disclose the time frame for launching the vehicle and stated that the company's priority is to strengthen its position on the back of Toyota Etios. He added that if they would be planning to bring in the car, it would be in 2012 or after that. Moreover, he told that they have not finalized what kind of vehicle it would be, but companies priority would be to bring in Multi Purpose Vehicle.

Yesterday, Toyota has launched Toyota Etios sedan in India pricing Rs. 4.96 lakhs - Rs. 6.86 lakhs. In India Toyota Motors deals with Kirloskar Group as a joint venture. Toyota's MUV, Toyota Innova has been on of the outstanding cars since its launch and is priced between Rs. 8.35 Lakhs to Rs. 12.21 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
Recently launched Toyota Etios is expected to give a stiff competition in the domestic market to three cars majorly, Maruti Swift Dzire, Tata Indigo and Mahindra Logan. The car is priced economically and the company expects good results from Toyota Etios. Toyota at present has not much share in the domestic market but they are planning to get 10% of market share by next year with Toyota Etios out in the market. At present Toyota Motors deals with 7 cars in India which are : Toyota Etios(Sedan), Toyota Innova(MUV), Toyota Corolla Altis(Sedan), Toyota Camary(PremiumSedan), Toyota Prius(hybrid sedan), Toyota Fortuner (SUV) and Toyota Land Cruiser Parado (SUV).
