As for the specifications, the Toyota Etios twins are likely to have 1.4 L D-4D common rail turbodiesel engine under the hood as in Toyota Corolla Altis diesel. Against the earlier speculations about the Etios twins featuring 76 Bhp oil burners, they are now said to get a 68 Bhp oil burners instead. The reason behind reducing the power of the Etios twins is not known, especially in the current competitive segment. However, unlike the variable geometry turbodiesel engine like in Toyota Corolla Altis, the Etios twins are said to have a fixed geometry turbocharged diesel engine, resulting in a better production of peak torque and peak power. The lower kerb weight of the Etios sedan and the Etios hatchback is supposed to result in a greater performance with respect to fuel economy. With the boosted mileage, both the Etios sedan and the Etios Liva hatchback stand on the top position in their respective segments.
