Toyota Etios sedan to dominate the entry level saloon segment
Rules till now by Maruti Suzuki and its Maruti swift Dzire, entry level sedan segment is ready to get the revolutionary change with the sensational launch from world’s top car manufacturer, Toyota. The segment has been facing exponential growth in recent times and looking at the same, Japanese car maker has launched the beautiful compact sedan, Toyota Etios for the Indian Auto market which waved a green flag of company’s success by marking over 21,000 bookings in a period of one and half month of its launch.
This blown a trumpet for the grand entry of Toyota Etios sedan in the domestic market.

As per the reports, delivery of Toyota Etios sedan which have been triggered from Jan, 2011 have a waiting period of seven months, the highest so far. The earlier market leader, Maruti Suzuki Dzire had a waiting period of 2-3 months which is also every second car sold in the low priced sedan segment. The car model faced a drop in sales by 1,000 units in Dec 2010. Moreover Tata Indigo also faced a downslide in demand by 5,234 units in December making the lowest figure in last year.

As per the reports, 9,000 to 9,500 units of Maruti Dzire and 1,800-2,300 units of Maruti SX4 are sold every month by the company in compact saloon segment. Whereas the month of December led to a fall in figures by 9,362 units against the 11,115 units sold a month earlier. The company officials said that the fall was due to the production constraints and all units produced by the company are sold and car still maintains a waiting period of 2 to 3 months.

As per the industry experts, the compact sedan segment is heating up with the launch of Toyota Etios sedan leading to fall in sales by other companies. Toyota is known for building best in segment cars and with entry in new segment, the demand for its car is increasing at a good rate. Moreover Toyota Etios sedan is made exclusively for Indian customers which is adding to its popularity in the domestic market. The car is giving straight competition to likes of Mahindra Logan, Hyundai Accent, Maruti Suzuki DZire and Tata Indigo.
