As already established, Tata is to bring in the CNG version of the Tata Nano soon enough. Recently the vehicle was found testing on the roads of Mumbai. The CNG tank is placed under the driver/passenger seat and just like in the petrol version; CNG can be filled through the bonnet.

There are a lot of speculations and questions regarding how a 625 cc engine would perform with the CNG. The new Tata Nano CNG will have a safety feature of leak detection system which will be able to detect the leakage and automatically cut off the CNG supply.

The price of the 2013 Tata Nano CNG, which is expected to come in the first quarter of 2013, will be priced around Rs. 20,000 more than the prevailing version. Currently Tata Nano is available in India in the price range of Rs. 1.41 Lakh to Rs. 2 Lakh.
