Rendering Honda CR-V in CKD form by 2012
The new 2012 Honda CR-V that was spotted on the roads of China would now be coming on the Indian roads. This new car was first spotted on the roads of China, during its test run and is rumored to come to the Indian market in 2012. Honda is supposed to bring this in India as CKD-kit and will be assembled at the Indian manufacturing plant of Honda India.

This new car in the CKD form will surely be cheaper than the one which comes already assembled. As now the company will have to pay the import duties ranging from only 10-30% on this CKD kit,compared to 110% import duties which the company pays for importing the SUV in the country from Japan.

The other major difference that this new car has in it is the engine. The new 2012 Honda CR-V is supposed to be equipped with a 2.2 L diesel engine. This new diesel engine could be another major factor that could be driving force in the success of the car. This engine would be capable of delivering a maximum power of 140 bhp and a maximum torque of 340 Nm. This new engine could provide us with more power and would be capable of delivering a better mileage than the existing model of Honda CR-V.

Due to the recent hike in the petrol price this car with diesel engine would surely be a good decision by the company. This would be the first model by Honda India with diesel engine in it.Apart from all this, the 2012 Honda CR-V could also come up as a 7- seater to give competition to the Toyota Fortuner and the Chevrolet Captiva.
