Premier Rio facelift coming in April
Premier made a point to show up at the Auto Expo. Unlike a few who chose to stay back instead of being a part of the Delhi Auto Expo 2012, Premier was just content to bring the Premier Rio SUV for a display more for a public appraisal to let them know how the new Premier Rio will look like. Borrowing the same design philosophy as Zoyte Nomad II as it always took inspiration from, the new Premium Rio is a stunner now. The changes are more than evident from the new headlamps and grille designs. But here comes the bombshell, the beige interiors which seem to be a favourite of many is all there to experience apart from an ergonomically advantageous new spoiler.
But, we are not so weak to fall for looks, are we? Good looks are a plus, agreed. What is more essential is performance. That is all going to change. Here are the highlights in the new Rio SUV. Soon, we might see the 1.3 L diesel engine replacing the 1.5 L BS III compliant diesel engine which Premier is aggressively testing to improve the performance and fuel efficiency.
Engine Specifications: 1.2 L 77 Bhp petrol engine + diesel engine option a definite advantage for both petrol and diesel car lovers, moreover Premier Rio petrol could keep the cost down.
Mileage: A big Plus with 15 kmpl for Premier Rio petrol and though 16 kmpl is what it boasts of at the moment, likely to go up further with 1.3 L diesel powertrain.
Now rich in features: new power windows, new music system, power steering, power operated ORVMs and central locking.
Premier Rio price: Price does make a difference in India. A Rs 4.7 lakh is just perfect when you are getting a compact SUV defying the hatchback in the process if you think, bigger and powerful is better.
