Andy Palmer, Nissan's Chief Planning Officer, states "Nissan has a history of democratising technology, bringing features from luxury cars to the mass market. We believe this is especially important when safety is involved and I'm delighted our efforts have been recognized by Auto Express. Safety Shield is an important step towards Nissan's goal of achieving ‘zero fatalities' in vehicles with the help of technology." Nissan recently launched the Sunny which came with ABS, EBD and Brake Assist as standard across all variants along with the driver side airbag. Keen customers could also opt for passenger and side airbags on their Sunny as an added safety concern. And these options are available on not a very expensive model, but on an affordable B+ segment car. This shows Nissan's commitment to the safety of occupants.
