The first week of October was an important one for so many reasons, firstly because most automakers announced their monthly sales report that gave us a clear idea of who stands where, secondly various car makers including Maruti Suzuki, Honda, Audi, Renault and Toyota hiked their car prices to avoid the losses that they might bear due to rupee depreciation which ultimately increases their input costs. lastly, as October is considered to be the festive month in India, and all the players are ready with their festive season offerings, discounts and launches, so if everything is put together, October is no doubt a very special month in all perspective.

Mercedes-Benz C-Class and E-Class Sport Editions Launched

Mercedes-Benz India launched the Sport Edition of its flagship sedans the C-Class and E-Class on October 4th at Rs 29.9 lakh and 39.9 lakh respectively (prices are ex-showroom, New Delhi). The sport editions carry the AMG sports package that has certainly helped them become more plush, sportier and ultra-modern.

New Tata Indica eV2 Launched at Rs 4.01 Lakh

The Indian automotive giant, Tata Motors launched the refreshed version of its popular hatchback Tata Indica eV2 that now gets the new exteriors and additional comfort features and has also cut its price by Rs 23,000.

Volvo V40 Cross Country to Launch in India by 2013

Volvo that unveiled the all new Volvo V40 cross country at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, is now planning to launch the similar car in India as well by the second quarter of 2013. And having an expected price of Rs 23-27 lakh, it will be competing with the likes of Mercedes-Benz B-Class, BMW X1, Audi Q3 and some others.

Chevrolet Cars to get Expensive by up to Rs 20,000

General Motors India announced that it would increase the prices of all its cars by up to Rs 20,000 and the new prices will be effective from October 8th, and this has been done due to the adverse currency movement in India and increasing input costs.

Honda Brio Automatic Launch on 18th October

Like we have been reporting for quite sometime now that Honda Cars India is working on an AT version of its popular hatchback, Honda Brio is finally launching the vehicle on 18th October, that means during the Navrataras.

Honda City CNG Launching by October End

Honda that launched the CNG version of its most popular sedan Honda City in Thailand last month, is now all set to bring in the same to India as well. Some of our trusted sources have confirmed that Honda Cars India will be launching the vehicle by end of the current month to lure as many buyers as they can during the festive season.

Maruti Suzuki Increases its Cars Prices

The India's largest car maker, Maruti Suzuki India has also increased the prices of its entire range by up to Rs 5,250 to avoid the foreign exchange fluctuation impact and rising input costs. The new prices have immediately come into effect.

It will be a 7-seater vehicle at an expected price range of Rs 7-9 lakh, which will compete against the segment topper including the Ertiga, Toyota Innova, Nissan Evalia and likes.

Mahindra Quanto to Go Rome

Mahindra & Mahindra which has recently launched the much awaited SUV, the Quanto in India some days back has been attracting so many buyers. So to make it even larger, the company is now planning to launch the vehicle in the Italian market as well. They also launched the XUV500 on 24th September there.
