Maybach offering discounts of upto $100,000 in order to lure buyers

If you are talking about luxury cars coming at a discount, it seems like a dream that will never see the light of the day.  But as for the world today all those impossible dreams are made possible by the car makers.  And the dream has been fulfilled by Maybach, the American auto major. Maybach is going to offer a discount of $100,000. The ultra luxury brand Maybach production, according to reports is going to be ceased and the brand will be the high end Mercedes.

However no official announcement has come out, but the fact is out in the open that Maybach sales is not doing good. The reason of Maybach not able to grab sales is cited as the amenities the brand offers is way less than what the other brands are offering at the same price. The market for the car is not expected to see a surge even after the $ 100,000 spiff.  Price of Maybach entry level Type 62 is place at $427,000 and Type 57 comes with a starting price of $376,300. Maybach downfall story is not hidden from the market, with only managing to sell 3,000 units in the past seven years.

If the high price tags were not able to save the brand, and the company lost round about $330,000  on every model they sold. The revival of the brand took about 1 billion dollars and the revenue the company was able to collect were insufficient to take the accounts on the credit side. Maybach was mulling over to make GL-based crossover, an entry level 52 and a four dooe 57 covertible which later on came in the guise of Mercedes Ocean Drive concept. All these talked about models never saw the light of the day.
