    Maruti was the only carmaker in India to have sold more than one lakh units in June 2025

    Maruti remained the top choice for Indian buyers in the month of June 2025 with over 1 lakh unit sales. However, it posted a month-on-month (MoM) decline. On the other hand, Hyundai, Honda, Volkswagen, Renault and Citroen were the only brands to have posted a MoM growth this June. Here’s a summary of the top selling car brands in India for June 2025:

    • Maruti Suzuki continued to dominate the Indian car market with over 1.18 lakh unit sales in June 2025. However, it witnessed a noticeable decline in both month-on-month (12.5 percent) and year-on-year (13.3 percent) sales, resulting in a 3 percent reduced market share from June 2024.

    • Mahindra took the second spot with a total sales of 47,306 SUVs in June 2025. Despite a monthly dip of nearly 10 percent, it posted an impressive 18.2 percent growth compared to June 2024. Their market share has also increased by 3.2 percent from June 2024.

    Hyundai Creta

    • Hyundai recorded over 44,000 unit sales, showing a marginal monthly increase. On the other hand, its YoY numbers were down by 12.1 percent, also witnessing a dip in market share by 0.9 percent.

    • Tata Motors slipped to fourth position with a 10.8 percent drop in monthly sales and a 14.8 percent fall compared to June last year. Its current market share stands at 11.7 percent, down from 12.8 percent in the same month last year.

    • Toyota clinched the 5th spot in the monthly sales data with a total unit sales of over 26,000 units. The carmaker registered a 9.7 percent decline in monthly sales, but managed to post a modest 2.7 percent year-on-year growth.

    Kia Syros Top Variant

    • Kia sold over 20,600 units in June 2025, down by 7.6 percent month-on-month and 3.2 percent year-on-year. Despite the dip, it held on to a stable market share of 6.5 percentMG Motor showed strong year-on-year growth of 25.5 percent, while it saw a slight dip of 7.5 percent from May 2025.

    • Skoda was among the biggest gainers, with a yearly growth in sales of 95.4 percent compared to June 2024. However, the Czech carmaker saw a steep 25.6 percent drop in MoM sales. 

    2nd-generation Honda Amaze

    • Honda showed signs of recovery with a 16.9 percent monthly gain with a total unit sales and dispatches of over 4,500 units. However, it still fell short of its performance in June 2024, ending with a 3.9 percent YoY decline.

    • Volkswagen, Renault, and Nissan struggled to gain ground, with Renault and VW posting an 8.5 percent and 4.9 percent MoM gain, respectively. Meanwhile, Nissan’s YoY sales dropped by nearly 38 percent.

    • Citroen managed to sell 610 units in June 2025, which was almost double its sales figures for May 2025. On the other hand, Jeep could sell 262 units in June 2025.
