The new Kia MPV (based on the Carens) that will debut in India on May 08, 2025, will be known as the Kia Clavis. Notably, Kia trademarked the ‘Clavis’ nameplate in June 2024 alongside the trademark of Syros. Along with the name reveal, the Korean carmaker has also teased its exterior design for the first time. Let us take a look at everything that could be spotted in the teaser video:
What Could Be Spotted?
The teaser prominently showcases the front design of the MPV, which features 3-pod LED headlights in a triangular housing outlined by inverted L-shaped LED DRLs similar to the Kia EV6.
The fascia also features a blanked-off grille similar to the Kia Syros and a black front bumper with a silver faux skid plate that gives the Clavis a rugged look. A camera can also be found at the front of the MPV, confirming a 360-degree camera setup on the Clavis.
The teaser also shows a panoramic sunroof on the Clavis and a 12.3-inch fully-digital driver’s display derived from the Syros. The driver’s display confirms the inclusion of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) suite on the MPV.
What More Is Expected?
While the rear design could not be seen on the teaser, some spied test mules featured connected LED tail lights which look similar to the ones on the current-spec Kia Carnival. The Clavis is also expected to get new alloy wheel design and a redesigned bumper compared to the Carens MPV.
The interior, save for the driver’s display, is also yet to be seen, but it is expected to be fully redesigned with a new and more modern-looking dashboard design. While the seating layout could be similar to the Carens, it can get a different seat upholstery with an extensive usage of sustainable materials.
In terms of features, the Kia Clavis can be further equipped with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system from the Kia Syros, dual-zone auto AC and a wireless phone charger.
Its safety suite, in addition to the 360-degree camera and ADAS, can include 6 airbags (as standard), electronic stability control (ESC) and front and rear parking sensors.
