Indian roads to be flooded with new small cars soon

The Indian roads will soon be flooded with an array of new generation and stylish cars as leading car makers around the world are planning to launch their new cars in the country. Since the starting of this calender year, the auto industry has been growing at its best ever pace and global automakers are looking forward to make the most of this vast potential that exists in the Indian market.

The auto biggies are not only planning to bring their global portfolio cars in the Indian market but are also working towards to expand their existing manufacturing capacities in the country so that the rising demand can be met efficiently. Renault, the France based leading car maker is planning to launch as many as five new cars across different segments in the Indian market in next three years. These five new cars will also include a small car which will be launched in the volume-driven small car segment in the coming years. Renault's small cars will be built in partnership India's leading two-wheeler maker Bajaj Auto. After the launch, the ultra low cost car of Nissan-Renault-Bajaj alliance will be competing with the likes of Tata Nano in India. With this, leading Japanese car maker Toyota Motors is in the final stage of launching its much awaited compact hatchback Toyota Etios in the Indian market by the first quarter of next year. The company is aiming to sell as many as 70,000 units of its cars in the Indian market.

Moreover, Honda Ciel India Limited, the Indian unit of Japan based Honda Motors is all set to roll-out a compact-hatchback in the Indian market by mid-next year. A concept of this car was showcased at the Delhi Auto expo in January this year. In Addition to this, Italian car maker Fiat and US based General Motors are also planning to launch their small cars in the mass segment.
