With a couple of new products in a pipeline, Honda Cars India is all set to start its second manufacturing unit in Tapukara, Rajasthan by the end of this month. Moreover, Honda Amaze will be the first product to roll out from this manufacturing unit.

In November 2013, Honda started a third shift at its Noida manufacturing unit to reduce the demand and supply gap. Now, the City has received a tremendous response from buyers and has already registered over 23,000 pre-orders for the sedan within two months of its launch. In December’13, Japanese carmaker delivered over 7,000 units of City and Amaze. The company will also introduce the new Jazz and Mobilio MPV by the end of this year, so to have on-time deliveries, Honda requires its second manufacturing unit to get operational as soon as possible.

Commenting on the bookings and steps taken to reduce the demand & Supply, Mr. Jnaneshwar Sen, Sr. Vice President marketing and Sales, Honda Cars India said, “In November’13, we had started the third shift at our Noida based manufacturing unit. While, the new Tapukara plant in Rajasthan will start functioning by the end of this month. Overall, both of these units have the capacity to deliver an output of 2.4 lakh units per year”.

At the ongoing 2014 Indian Auto Expo, Honda has unveiled its all-new Jazz hatchback and Mobilio MPV. Both the models will go on sale by the next fiscal.
