Although the premium hatchback segment in India is ruled by the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, the Honda Jazz is also a popular car in the segment. It is best known for its spacious interiors, magic seats and a massive boot. The current, third-generation Jazz was unveiled in 2013 and was launched in the Indian market in July 2015. As it's almost time for the introduction of the facelift, the spy shots of the same being tested in Brazil have surfaced on the Internet.

The new hatchback has various cosmetic changes. For instance, the front fascia is now quite similar to the Honda City facelift. It features new LED headlights, a new grille design, restyled bumper and reshaped fog lamp housing. The rear bumper has also been restyled and features new LED tail lights. The interior changes are still unknown, however, it is likely to come with a new trim and upholstery. The instrument cluster might be updated and it may be equipped with the 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, the Digipad, which is offered on the 2017 City facelift and the recently launched Honda WRV.

The new Jazz is likely to go on sale in the international market by the end of the year and can make its India debut at the 2018 Auto Expo. In terms of mechanicals, it is expected to come with the same 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel motor as the current hatchback. While the petrol motor has power figures of 90PS and 110Nm, the diesel motor produces 100PS and 200Nm. Currently, while the Jazz has five-speed manual and an optional CVT transmission with the petrol version, the diesel only has a six-speed manual transmission on offer. Honda launched the Jazz-based crossover, the WR-V in the country last month and the City facelift in February 2017.
