Honda begins digital marketing campaign for its first diesel car

With the CR-V launch just a fortnight away, Honda is pulling up its socks for the launch of the new Honda Amaze— which will be its first entrant to be propelled even by a diesel mill. The Japanese manufacturer had taken us to Japan a couple of months ago to give us a first hand driving impression of this new sedan.

The Amaze is a sub 4-metre sedan that should available in the first quarter of the FY 2013. The Amaze will be available with a 1.2-litre petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. This i-DTEC engine will also power other new generation models of Honda, like the City, Jazz and Brio. Honda has been losing a lot of market share, as it didn’t have any diesel-powered engines. The Honda Amaze has a longer wheelbase than the Brio by 60mm improving the rear seat legroom.

The Amaze being under 4 metres in length and having small capacity engines, it will get the duty cut. Honda has played smarty with the Amaze and we believe it is capable of being the new segment leader. To read more on the Honda Amaze, click here .
