Honda Accord, Honda CR-V to be inspected by company for possible oil leak issue

In US, Honda Motor Co Ltd., will acquiant almost 1,200 owners of the 2011 Honda Accord car model and the Honda CR-V about the defect of the oil leak problem in the engine. As per the sources, the Japanese auto giant has send a notification in the dealerships, which says that 5,000 units of Honda Accord 2011 car models and 4,300 Honda CR-V 2011 car models must be investigated for a possible oil leak.

As per the reports, the Japanese auto giant notified the potential problem in the car models of 2011 in the service bulletin on 3rd December for Honda Accord and Honda CR-V. The car buyers will be informed about the oil leak defect in the mid of December. As per the notice issued to the dealers, the car models with defects will be firstly repaired and then sold in the US auto market. Honda says in its report that the cars need only an early inspection to know about the possible defect.

It is being speculated that, the current notification followed another notification on 24th November, 2010, which stated to the dealers by Honda, that, surplus paint could be a major cause for the oil leak from the engine by the cylinder head cover from 2006 to 2010 car model years of Honda Accord, Honda Civic Si, Honda CR-V and Elements. The Honda notice also said that, the repair of the paint defect can be covered under the warranty period. as per the reports, the Japanese auto giant, started selling the 2011 year car model of Honda Accord in August. In the notice, two and four door Honda Accord is mentioned. Honda began to roll out the 2011 year car model of Honda CR-V in the month of October and the repair covers the two and four wheel drive the savvy SUV Honda CR-V.

As per the report, the auto manufacturer generally use system of notification to its dealers for the repairs which are not idealize in the company's judgment in the safety issues. As per the US auto safety rules, the issues that come in the safety problem require a formal call back. The Honda's recall of its cars is at a time when the Japanese auto giant are witnessing decline. Recently, Toyota Motors called back its cars from the US market due to safety reasons which is considered to the biggest till date. Honda's new entry Honda CR-Z hybrid has not received the expected response from the auto critics.
