At last after a series of anticipations and speculations, Hindustan Motors is finally on an expansion spree. Recently it has come up with its new model Hindustan Motors Veer.For sixty years at a stretch Hindustan Motors has been producing only Ambassador but now they have serious plans to introduce new models and this will help in maintaining the company's production unit in Uttarpara, West Bengal.

Hindustan Motors Veer is a utility vehicle and is carved out of Hindustan Motors Ambassador car by chopping off its rear and replacing it with a goods carrier. Hindustan Motors Veer price in India is Rs. 3.3 lakh. The company has kept alive the old trend of car designs and there is no change in the concept for the last sixty years. According to the reports the Managing Director of Hindustan Motors, Mr. Manoj Verma has stated that Hindustan Motors is planning to launch more new variants of Ambassador in the near future. It will include a 7-9-seater people's carrier with 3 bench seats, a 4 meter Ambassador car with the rear chopped off and a retro car that is being reconstructed to an entirely new form. After this according to Mr Verma there also plan to introduce four other variants like a 9-10 seater passenger carrier based Winnera (a Chinese commercial vehicle) a 7-seater Outlander, an advanced Montero and a new Pajero.

Hindustan Motors set up several protocols to achieve their target of taking the annual sales to 50,000 units. However, their emphasis will be on the commercial vehicles segment and porter cars sales this time. Hindustan Motors has been facing decline in their sales chart ever since 1983 when the Maruti Udyog entered the Indian market. An investment of Rs 20 crore has been done in the research and development department to functionally enhance the commercial variants of the Ambassador car while Rs 50 to 60 crore are invested on the manufacturing of the retro car. A Euro-IV diesel engine is also under production plans, added Mr Verma.
