First MG Select Dealership That Will Retail The Upcoming Cyberster And M9 Opened In Thane, India

It is no news that the upcoming MG M9 and MG Cyberster will be sold through the more premium ‘MG Select’ outlets of the carmaker. As the carmaker is preparing the launch of both premium EVs in India, it has opened the first MG Select showroom in India. Tejpal Motors, which is located near R City mall in Thane, has become the first MG Select outlet in India. Notably, 12 more outlets are going to be launched across major cities in India, including New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Chennai, Gurugram, Pune, Ahmedabad, Surat, Kolkata and Kochi.
Let us now take a look at both the MG M9 and MG Cyberster that will be on offer in the new and more premium MG dealerships.
MG M9
After debuting at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, we recently drove the MG M9 in its India-spec avatar ahead of its expected launch in July 2025.

The MG M9 gets a boxy silhouette with a clean design that looks modern and sophisticated. It gets projector LED headlights highlighted by eyebrow-shaped LED DRLs. Other highlights include electric sliding doors and connected LED tail lights that give it a premium feel. It also features 19-inch alloy wheels with aerodynamic inserts for enhanced efficiency.

Step inside the cabin and you will be welcomed by a black and tan dashboard that sports dual digital displays and a 2-spoke steering wheel. It is also equipped with a single-pane sunroof for the front passengers and a panoramic sunroof for the rear passengers. It gets 6 seats inside, with ventilation, massage and power assistance in the first and second rows. Also offered is a 3-zone auto AC and a 64-colour ambient lighting.
Safety suite onboard features multiple airbags, front and rear parking sensors, 360-degree camera, and a Level-2 ADAS suite.
It gets a 90 kWh battery pack that has a claimed range of 548 km. It is paired with a 245 PS/350 Nm electric motor mounted on the front axle.

MG Cyberster

Not only is the carmaker expected to launch the M9, but the MG Cyberster is also expected to go on sale soon. Notably, the electric roadster can clock a 0-100 kmph time in 3.2 seconds.
It gets projector LED headlamps with petal-like LED DRLs and modern-looking scissor doors on either side. After launch, it will be the most affordable car in India to get such doors in India. Other design highlights include arrow-shaped LED tail lights and an LED lightbar that enhance its sporty appeal.

The interior features an aircraft-like cockpit design with a 4-screen layout that can be used to access all functionalities of the EV. These include a 10.25-inch and 7-inch driver’s displays, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system flanking the instrument console, and another dedicated display for AC controls. It also gets Bose speakers and auto AC.

Its safety suite includes 6 airbags, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, disc brakes on all wheels and Level-2 ADAS features like lane keep assist and driver drowsiness detection.
In India, the Cyberster will pack a 77 kWh battery pack with a claimed range of 443 km. It will be mated to a dual-motor setup with a combined output of 510 PS and 725 Nm.
Expected Price And Rivals
The MG M9 is expected to be priced at Rs 70 lakh (ex-showroom) and will be considered an electric alternative to the Toyota Vellfire and Kia Carnival MPVs. The Cyberster, on the other hand, will be priced at around 80 lakh (ex-showroom). It can be considered an electric option to the BMW Z4 in India.
Notably, MG might offer both EVs with its Battery As A Service Scheme (BaaS) subscription plan, which can make them more affordable to own.
