Fun, fun, fun! A lovable car that will bring you loads of laughs and smiles. It has handsome Jeep styling and a brute character, with a tough build. It's far more user-friendly than the old Thar, thanks to superior interiors and amenities. The car boasts a very competent and refined turbo-petrol and diesel engine range. You can enjoy butter-smooth 6-speed automatics available with both engines. The 4x4 hardware, off-road capability, and 226 mm ground clearance allow you to conquer slush, muck, deserts, jungles, and mountains! You have the option of choosing between a practical hard-top or a fun convertible in the Thar. Features such as removable doors, ESP, cruise control, hill hold/descent, TPMS are available. What you won't find appealing are the bumpy ride quality, as the Thar is never settled no matter the road or speed. It doesn't handle well at high speed, so it's best to cruise at 100-110 km/h only. It's also considered impractical due to the 2-doors and 4 seats (not 5), and the back seat is difficult to access. The laughably small boot simply isn't enough for holiday luggage. The petrol AT is thirsty due to its hefty weight, 148 BHP, and torque-converter AT. The higher variants come with premium pricing for the Thar's limited usability. There's a sad feature list for a 17-lakh car, lacking features like reversing cam, auto-dimming IRVM, auto headlamps wipers, electrically-folding ORVMs, rear wash wipe. There are also apprehensions of niggles and concerns about Mahindra's hit-or-miss after-sales service quality.
