Mahindra Marazzo is a landmark venture by the homegrown company as it has used its own expertise in big diesel cars and expanding global resources to create a vehicle that is unique in many aspects, other than the pioneering use of hybrid chassis with front-wheel drive and transverse engine layout. The exterior and interior design is so classy, understated and contemporary, it could easily belong to a higher league. The absolute USP is the space, seating comfort and practicality of all the three rows. The 1.5-liter diesel engine is remarkably quiet, easily drivable and quite fuel efficient. It is commendable that the essential safety features including all four disc brakes are standard. The sturdy build quality is obvious and attested to by the 4-star crash safety score. The roof mounted, surround cooling rear AC is a highlight, both visually and functionally. It has all the essential creature comforts that one would really need. The only cons would be the cramped engine bay, lack of petrol or automatic and few ergonomic flaws in the cabin. If the first batches of the vehicle clear the apprehensions about niggles, this is a car that could be a real winner for Mahindra. It has the potential to be an icon.
