Tata Nano scores the least in TNS India Total Customer Satisfaction survey 2010

Tata Nano scores lowest in Customer Satisfaction This does not make a real good news for the Indian auto major but the people's car was among the lowest scored car in the recently published TNS India customer satisfaction survey 2010. Tata Nano was categorized among the entry level small cars which had top scorers as Maruti Alto, and Maruti 800. While Tata Nano was able to corner 70 points, Maruti Alto got 91.

Addressing the announcement of the results, Pradeep Saxena who is the Executive Director of TNS Automotive commented that the automotive sector has faced an exponential growth in the tear 2010 and with this the auto makers have worked hard to deliver the maximum customer satisfaction to the buyers.

Moreover he also said that delivering such high performance in such competitive environment was not easy as retaining the existing customers is a tough call. He stated that owing to the exponential growth, the companies had to also face the stressed supply of auto components. The results of this year’s TNS Total Customer Satisfaction (TCS) is based on the rigorous analysis from 9300 new car buyers which are selected for 56 different car models.

Among the factors which were included in the survey was sales satisfaction, vehicle performance and design, product quality, brand image, after sales service, and cost-of-ownership. Another attractive conclusion of the survey was that the customer’s satisfaction among the Indian car buyers depends on the cost of the car. One can say that the highest scoring segment was the Upper Premium Compact, Premium Midsize and Premium SUVs.

The study also revealed a lesser satisfaction among the smaller cities customers as against those from bigger cities. The major reason behind Tata Nano scoring the least among all segment rivals is the recent reported fire accidents. The scoring of Tata Nano was less in the Northern region as against the other parts of the country.

Toooooo costly for the car of its calibre (diff between Maruti Alto or 800 in prices is almost same) Marutis which is tried, trusted & tested then why go for a cent when you get $$$ at the same price?
