Tata Nano sales slide 85% in August
Tata Motors is reported to have faced a dip in sales by 2.84 % in the month of August, 2011, taking the sales down to 64,078 units. The major factor behind it is the low sales of Tata Nano, which has suffered by 85% during the month of August. Apparently, the company had sold 65,954 units during the same time last year.

The company’s total passenger vehicles sale recorded 16, 829 units in the month of July against the 25,212 units sales, during the corresponding period, last year, there-by facing a dip by 33.25%. The Tata Nano figures show a 1,202 units sale during August, registering a dip of 85%.

The Tata Indica sales is also believed to be down by 4% against the same time last year, while the Indigo brand registered a dip of 24% against the corresponding period, last year. However, the sales in the SUV segment registered a growth of 15% to 3,321 units that comprises the sales of Tata Sumo, Tata Safari and Tata Aria.
