Tata Nano diesel might come with different exhaust arrangement
There have been ample of rumors and speculations about the new Tata Nano diesel lately. The Tata Nano Diesel has been spotted many times on the roads of Pune during its test runs, even though without any solid proofs. Tata Motors is still testing the car as the new Tata Nano Diesel doesn’t appear to have any changes on the outside. But recently, under the hood scans of Tata Nano Diesel has hit the web and results seems to be that the new Tata Nano Diesel might come with a whole new exhaust arrangement.
Apparently, Tata Nano Diesel’s exhaust might be positioned a bit differently, that is towards the sides of the car instead of the rear end. This different exhaust layout is expected to disperse heat in a better way than the present design accompanied with the new exhaust layout; one could assume that the new Tata Nano Diesel might get a major facelift on the rear end with a brand new rear bumper design. As of now, there are no images of the test mules of Tata Nano diesel with dissimilar exhaust arrangement. But hopefully, the official images will be out soon.
Speculations suggest that Tata Motors is planning to launch Tata Nano Diesel in 2013. The car will sport 1.4 litre, 2 cylinder diesel engine with a displacement of 700cc accompanied with a common rail direct injection system for enhanced fuel efficiency. The engine might be shared with Tata Ace DICOR. According to the grapevine, this downsized 1.4 litre of diesel engine is expected to deliver a mind blowing mileage of up to 40 km per litre, thereby making it one of the most fuel efficient engines across the globe. The price of Tata Nano Diesel is still unknown.
